Economy On Fire While Tim Geithner's Head Explodes, Miley Cyrus Disses Jay Z, Megan Fox Banned From Walmart, Bob Dylan Videos Yoinked off Youtube, Elton John's tribute to the Pilot of the Future, Ben Stiller effort called "Lackluster"

THE IMPORTANT NEWS: ECONOMY STILL BURNING

(posted by voice of americans 2008 at youtube) This is about as animated you will see Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner ever get in public. A conservative Republican congressman asks him to resign, and calls for a return to trickle-down economics (i.e. tax cuts for the wealthy). Geithner nearly loses it around 2:53, and says, "I agree with almost nothing you said...you left this president an economy falling off a cliff."

(posted by iwontsellout at youtube) In this clip, a different Republican congressman also invokes trickle-down economics, and calls for it's return. Geithner fires back at 3:45, "That broad philosophy helped produce the worse financial crisis, and the worse recession we'd seen in generations. We had a pretty good test of those policies. They did not serve the country well."

We know why the Republicans are giving Geithner hell.  They want to see a Democratic administration fail.  But what is really disturbing is that now liberal leaders in Congress are also upset with the direction of the White House's economic team.  SEE:  House Dem: 'Growing' liberal consensus to dump Geithner - The Hill's Blog Brie and YouTube - Ed Show - Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR04) levels Goldman Sachs, Summers,.  Long story short, they are finally fed up with the White House strategy to resuscitate the economy by bailing out the bankers and Wall Street, instead of directly helping the ordinary American people who are suffering the most.

...all of which provoked renegade economist Max Keiser to call for a worker's revolution from his underground bunker in Paris. (Acutally, this is an old video, but it couldn't be more relevant for today's news.)

In the words of the legendary Elton Hercules John, "it's a sad, sad situation....and it's gettin' more and more absurd." (more on him later)

MILEY:  "JAY WHO?"
(posted by sgizzle at youtube)Now we turn our attention to the second most important person on earth behind Timothy Geithner...Miley Cyrus. Despite a reference to rapper Jay Z in one of Miley's latest hits "Party in the U.S.A.", Miley is really not a fan, and claims to never have heard a Jay Z song. Which seems to be making a lot of people mad, but it was fine with me because she said she likes Joan Jett, and Janice Joplin...Yeah, so that is cool. Miley also does not seem to be the biggest fan of her own song "Party in the U.S.A.", and said she just chose it to help promote her clothing line at the most evil corporation on earth... which segways right into our next very important story.

MEGAN FOX BANNED FROM WALMART FOREVER (OR UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)

Recently it was reported that Walmart banned a gay couple from their store for making a scene Walmart levies lifetime ban against gay couple -- DailyFinance .  If true, this couple is in some pretty good company because apparently superstar actress Megan Fox was also banned.  ""I don’t know if the ban was for life, but when I was 14 or 15 I did get caught and convicted of stealing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen cosmetics from a Wal-Mart," says Fox.  Megan Fox Was Banned From Wal-mart at The Insider  Well, isn't that how it always starts...You get obssesed with those Olsen twins, and before long you're a hardened criminal.

BOB DYLAN: A NEW SHERIFF IS IN TOWN

All kinds of Bob Dylan videos are getting removed from youtube, and it's all because Bob Dylan hired a service called Web Sheriff.  SEE: RightWingBob.com » A howdy from the Web Sheriff  This article seems to explain that this does not signify an era of no more free Bob Dylan material on the web...but is mainly to maximize profits for Dylan's charity Christmas album, and to straighten out the rankings at youtube so Dylan's official channel will rise to the top, rather than the upstarts.   Nonetheless, the irony is rich as this article mental_floss Blog » Bob Dylan: Culture Hero or Copyright Thief? points out, in quoting professor Lewsi Hyde.  “Bob Dylan drew upon a rich lode of old folk tunes for most of his early songs.  That’s not theft; that’s the folk tradition at its best.”

ELTON JOHN DOES DAN DARE

(posted by steffen2k7 at youtube)
Oh, get your mind out of the gutter! When I say "Elton does Dan Dare", I am talking about Elton John doing his tribute to his favorite British comic book hero "Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future" on his 1975 album "Rock of the Westies"...which is featured in today's "nifty song lyrics" segment (lyrics by Taupin).

Can you tell me how old Dan might have done it

If he'd been here now, holy cow
My stars might have been read on the planet Mars
Because I don't have foresight to see
If we still be together in the twenty first
In the twenty first century

He's our flying ace, pilot of the future
In an endless space, holy cow
My eyes never saw a rocket that was quite that size
Because I don't have the energy
To be cat and mouse for the champions
For the champions of destiny

So long captain Dan
I fail to see what motivates your hands
Goodbye restless night
You know I loved Dan Dare, but I couldn't make his flight

So long, so long

Dan Dare doesn't know it
He doesn't know it
He doesn't know it
But I liked the Mekon
Ok, well maybe you are saying, "Jimmy Fungus, who the hell is Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future??" Well, don't worry...that is why my slogan is, "I investigate. You get informed." This youtube vid from Virgin Comics helps sum it up pretty well. (It's pretty cool, huh?) Virgin Comics is also kind enough to provide some Dan Dare Cliff's Notes as well :

"Dan Dare was once a hero. He brokered peace with alien races, pushed the frontiers of space, and saved the planet from total annihilation... repeatedly. But now, his Space Fleet has disbanded, the United Nations has crumbled, his friends scattered to the solar winds. Britain is once again the world power, but Dare (is) disillusioned and disappointed in his once-precious home...(SEE:YouTube - Dan Dare - Virgin Comics)"

Ok, well now that I have treated you with all these heavenly news stories, it is finally time to put you through HELL....

MOVIE REVIEW: ARE YOU EXPERIENCED?

Well, my momma told me, if ya can't say anything nice, don't say nuthin' at all...So, I won't say what I really thought of the latest Ben Stiller movie I rented at Lackluster Video.  However, I will tell you what some of America's professional and most well trained movie critics are saying about it:

"The film is an all-you-can-eat buffet of mediocrity. A spiraling vortex of boredom. A deflated Whoopee cushion." Colin Covert - Minneapolis Star Tribune.

""As pointless and obnoxious as someone pulling on your ears." Matt Pais - metromix.com

""If the rumored semi-autobiographical nature of this material is indeed true, this otherwise capable (writer/director Todd Louiso) needs therapy, not a distribution deal."  Bill Gibron - filmcritic.com

"Ouch!" Jimmy Fungus. "Ouch!!"

Well, kids.  That ends yet another exciting trek through the blogosphere...  As always...God bless you, and thank you for your support.
